What is ethic.

What ethics mean to me: Ethic is a part of philosophy that includes the study of morality, virtue, happiness and good living. Devoted to the study of human actions.

Ethical dilemma:

In a family trip, your car with all your family crushes, and your grandfather suffers a very big accident, in which ends in vegetative state. After 4 years he is in the hospital, he doesn´t wake up, and your economic situation is getting worst. Is possible that your grandfather recovers at any moment, or he doesn´t wake up from his vegetative state. What would  you do?

  1. Mr. Diaz,

What a horrible decision that family must make! This is an ethical dilemma that exists in the real world because many families can have financial trouble when a family member is sick... medical care is expensive!

Personally, I don´t know if I would have any expectations that he would wake up after 4 years.... but I guess there could always be a miracle!

    What would you do?

  2. I would keep him alive, because the life of a father is more important than money.

  3. When this kind of situations happens there are more than one person involved. WHo is really suffering?, that man who doesn't know what is happening around? or those who know what happens and suffer looking at a man that maybe won't wake up again.
I think it should be a family decision.

  4. Personally, refering to what miss lydia said, a person can be sleep for 4 years, see the case of Gustavo Cerati, he has been app for 2 years in vegetative condition, and he continues like that... If my resources are falling, i would disconect my grandfather from the machine because as you say, they had been wating for 4 years and each day in machines that keep people alive costs a lot.
